FREE PARKING SITES

 

A number of free parking sites are available around town. Some of these are easily served by a shuttle service taking you downtown or are in the proximity of a bus stop to reach downtown (not free) . Two parking sites are more central. Below is a list with GPS coordinates, addresses and number of available parking spots per site.

 

Information reported in the list:

 

• GPS-Longitude

• GPS-Latitude

• Name of location

• Total number of spots available

• Number of bus service (where no specific shuttle) / some explanation.

 

FREE PARKING SITES WITH BUS TO DOWNTOWN

 

A free service taking you to downtown is connecting the sites in the list below. Once you park it is possible to either take a bus/shuttle or take free bicycle returning it before 23:30 of the same day (I personally have no experience with the shuttle/free bicycle service).

It is not clear from the website whether in all cases the bus/shuttle would be free, I would be ready with some small cash either way.

After taking the parking ticket (free), it is possible to take get on the bus.

The websites is giving contrasting information naming buses 5,11,13, but also 26 (to center) and 25 (back to parking site).

Here the website says “free for about 10 months/year”. This would make me wary of using it on July and August. Check once you’re there if it’s really free. You can use any of the extra-urban buses (blue buses with “Lazzi” written on them) to go towards downtown Viareggio. Make sure to remember/ask which line you used so that you may come back quickly.
